Fire Training on the use of Portable Fire Fighting Equipment
On Site Demonstration
This consists of a session about fire safety and the measures used to prevent the outbreak of a fire. Evacuation procedures are covered in this session also. The colour coding of fire extinguishers and their contents are then explained and what class of fire each extinguisher can be used on. This is followed by a practical demonstration to be held outside in a safe and convenient area of the premises. The extinguishers are then used to extinguish the different classes of fire. All participants receive a certificate in recognition of the training.

• Carbon Monoxide
• Escape Procedures, Discovering a fire
• The types of extinguishers and procedure for using them
All who attend the course will use at least one fire extinguisher on a live fire.
At the end of the course, participants will be able to…….
1. Understand the nature of fire
2. Recognise the potential fire hazards and different classes of fire.
3. Have practice in the use of portable fire extinguishers under controlled conditions.
4. Know the type of fire extinguishers used within the premises
5. Evacuation Procedures
The course duration is between 1 and 1 ½ hours long and is divided between and presentation coving the topics discussed earlier and a practical demonstration. If the facilities are on site we can give presentations and show videos as part of the course. There is no limit on the amount of people on each course but fewer than 30 is the general best practice.
The course has been given for any jobs that need to be HIQA compliant, building sites, multinationals, hotels, public buildings etc.
